WWWORKSHOP ON STUDY ABROAD, SEPT 20

Weekly Wednesday Workshops are held every Wednesday evening from 6-7 PM outside of 504 Goodell in the Commonwealth College Lounge. Dinner is provided. This week's topic: From Argentina to Zimbabwe: An overview of Study Abroad for the year, the semester, and the summer.
Please RSVP to c3@comcol.umass.edu if you are planning to attend. See WWWorkshop page for other dates and topics.

EXISTENTIAL FILM SERIES - GARDEN STATE, SEPT 21

Please join us for our Fall 06 Existential Film Series Thursdays at 8:00pm, 406A Goodell. This week's film is actor, writer and director Zach Braff's Garden State, the story of a troubled son's return home to attend his mother's funeral after a ten-year estrangement from his family.
A special Dean's Book Course film—open to all but of particular interest to DBC students—will show on Sept 28. Rotten Tomatoes summarizes the South Korea-produced JSA [Joint Security Area] this way: "This Korean thriller mines the historic tension between North and South Korea over activity in the JSA, the Joint Security Area, a region guarded by armies from both counties. When two North Korean soldiers are found dead there, it sets off a political chain of events that threatens to plunge the countries into war." Wildly popular in South Korea but never shown in the North, JSA will play Sept 28 at 8:00 in Goodell.
