STEVE ALDEN '06 TOP SCORER IN STATEWIDE CPA EXAM
Commonwealth College graduate Steve Alden '06 has placed first in a field of 615 who took this year's Massachusetts Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam. An accounting major in the Isenberg School of Management during his time as an undergraduate, Steve attributed his success to disciplined preparation and the excellent instruction he received here at UMass Amherst: “My professors at UMass taught me everything I needed to know about accounting and then some,” he said. “While many people played a role in my achievement, I wouldn’t even be in this profession were it not for the love of accounting I developed in my introductory college courses. That was a great gift from my professors.” Steve is currently an audit associate with KPMG International's Boston office, and you can read more about Steve's accomplishment in their press release.
