Prof. Kathleen Brown-Perez, an enrolled member of the Brothertown Indian Nation and a Federal Indian Law attorney, will provide an introduction to American Indians and tribes from the perspective of both American Indians and the U.S. government, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Congress, and the Supreme Court. She will also answer questions on these and related issues.

Sherman Alexie is the National Book Award-winning author of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Face, Ten Little Indians and more than a dozen books of fiction, short stories, poems and screenplays. He lives in Seattle, WA, with his wife and two sons.

John Trudell (Santee Sioux) is an acclaimed poet, national recording artist, actor and activist. He was a spokesperson for the Indian of All Tribes occupation of Alcatraz Island from 1969 to 1971, then worked with the American Indian Movement (AIM), serving as chairman of AIM from 1973 to 1979.
