Jessica Stern author of Terror in the Name of GodJessica Stern will speak to students and the public on the evening of 15 October 2007 at 7:00pm in Bowker Auditorium, UMass Amherst.

Stern is a Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and a former member of President Bill Clinton's National Security Council staff. In 2001, Time Magazine named Stern one of the seven thinkers whose ideas will change the world.

Jessica Stern received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Barnard College, a master's degree in technology policy from MIT, and a doctorate in public policy from Harvard University.

Robert Sapolsky author of A Primate's Memoir and friendRobert Sapolsky has been invited to speak in February 2008. We eagerly await his reply.

Sapolsky is currently professor of Biological Science and Neurology & Neurological Sciences at Stanford University. He is also an associate with the Institute of Primate Research Museums of Kenya and a recipient of the MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship. Oliver Sacks has referred to Sapolsky as "one of the best scientist-writers of our time," and the New York Times dubbed him "one of the finest natural history writers around."

Robert Sapolsky received his bachelor's degree in biological anthropolgy (summa cum laude) from Harvard University and a doctorate in neuroendocrinology from Rockefeller University.
