Will I have time to do community service during my first year at UMass?
IMPACT! is a community service learning (CSL) program. In CSL, community service is built into your courses and counts toward the credits you earn. Like reading a book, it's something you do to meet class requirements—and you can make time to meet your class requirements. Unlike reading a text, however, it lets you make a difference in the lives of other people and in your own life.
I’m not in Commonwealth College. Can I still be in IMPACT!?
Only incoming Commonwealth Honors College students are eligible to join IMPACT!. Students who are not entering Commonwealth Honors College, but are interested in participating in community service learning courses at UMass should contact our main desk at (413) 545-2015 to learn about courses and programs available to all UMass students.
