Education
B.A., Public and Community Service (Minor: Accounting), Providence College, 2006
Experience
After graduating from the Feinstein Institute of Public Service at Providence College, I served my family for one year, going on to an AmeriCorps position as Site Coordinator of National Student Partnerships in Balitmore. In the Fall of 2008 I started working in the OCSL at the same time entering UMass's Master's program in Higher Education Administration.
Community involvement
Through my service learning major I worked with many community-based organizations in Providence, including an alternative school for inner-city middle school boys, a welfare advocacy group for single Latina mothers on welfare, an after-school tutoring program, and a local land trust/community garden. In Baltimore I formed and strengthened community partnerships in order to provide better resources to low-income/homeless clients.
Interesting facts
I am a huge believer in tolerance and acceptance, but I'm working on my own judgemental tendencies. I am also a huge believer in music and its abilities to bring people together. Service learning is alright, too.
